Millennium Square is Leeds’ award winning city centre outdoor public space and live entertainment venue. Situated in front of Leeds Civic Hall in the heart of the civic quarter and surrounded by some of the city’s other most significant and iconic buildings; this unique space is accessible to all - and hosts a varied programme of year round events.
Built as Leeds' flagship project to mark the year 2000, the venue is now widely renowned as a multi-functional live event venue hosting a wide range of events and activities including; the annual Christkindelmarkt German Christmas market, Ice Cube outdoor temporary ice rink, Yorkshire Food & Drink Festival, City Beach together with various multi-cultural and community celebrations including; Leeds Pride, Vaisakhi and St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Millennium Square comes to life every July, when the Summer series returns with a jam packed schedule. The series consists of outdoor cinema screenings, free music & street food, plus live performances culminating with the annual Leeds Pride parade stage.
The square is also home to the Leeds Big Screen, regularly showing live major sporting events including Wimbledon Tennis Championships and World Cup and European Championship Football plus various theatrical screenings and other cultural and local content.

The webcam is mounted on the roof of the Leeds Civic Hall and overlooks Millennium Square. The view covers the Town Hall on the right and the Carriageworks Theatre complex in the centre. The brick chimney of the Electric Press printworks is on the far left.
