During Light Night, our support staff will be in the city centre to ask you questions about the festival. We would value your thoughts on your experiences of Light Night 2019 and how we can make the festival even better in the future.

Your responses will be kept confidential and anonymous and will be held by the council and its research partners: Red Research, The Audience Agency and NGI Solutions for research purposes only.

This survey is completely voluntary.

To give your feedback during or after the event please complete our online survey, and be in with a chance of winning tickets to other fantastic Leeds events.

Help us by doing your bit for the environment.

We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our event. You can join in and help us by:

  1. joining the Light Out Leeds scheme

This is your opportunity to help us to reduce the carbon used during the festival. Turn off you lights and non-essential electric items during the event. You can use the hashtag #lightsoutleeds when using social media.

  2. downloading the app to help us save paper

We have produced our first Light Night Leeds app for just £2. Any paper copies leftover will be recycled.

  3. leaving your car at home and use public transport, cycle or car-share

When you are making your plans for the festival, please look at public transport external link, or consider cycling in or car sharing with family, friends.

  4. bringing and using your reusable water bottle

We support Refill, the campaign designed to help you reduce your plastic pollution, by making it easy to refill your reusable water bottle instead of buying a plastic one. To find your nearest station visit the Refill website external link or download their app.

  5. recycling on the go

There are over 50 recycling bins in the city centre. Empty coffee cups can be recycled in any Caffè Nero, Costa, McDonald's, Pret and Starbucks or in one of ten new bright orange bins external link.

  6. eating out

We have asked all our street food vendors to remove single use plastic items, serve food in compostable food containers and provide recyclable cutlery. Traders have been asked to source their food locally and that food is disposed of responsibly.

  7. completing our survey online

Instead of using paper surveys, we will be sending out a link on social media, or with tablets on the street with our support staff.

  8. measuring your carbon footprint

Test your footprint and find out ways in which you can reduce your impact with simple and easy to use WWF Footprint Calculator external link, which gives you instant results and recommendations.

  9. joining the Big Leeds Climate Conversation

Take part in the council’s climate questionnaire link to survey.
