Travel to Light Night Leeds

Park and Ride

Thursday & Friday until 11pm

Thanks to First Bus, the city’s two park and ride facilities, Elland Road and Temple Green, will be staying open until 11pm especially for Light Night.

Journey into the city centre on the new hybrid buses with leather seats, USB points, and free WiFi every 30 mins. Return tickets are £3 per person all evening.

By Public Transport

We encourage our visitors to travel to Light Night Leeds by public transport. For more information about the different services, please visit the West Yorkshire Metro website.

By Car

There are various car parks and on street parking available throughout the city. For full details of Leeds City Council car parks, please visit the City centre car parks page.

Special parking offers:

  • The Tetley Brewery Car Park: £1.80 all evening (5pm – midnight)
  • Trinity Leeds: £3 all evening (5pm to 5am)
  • University of Leeds Multi-storey: £2 for the first 2 hours, then £1 per hour thereafter
  • CitiPark at the Merrion Centre: £1 per hour (for the first 3 hours) from 6pm)
  • CitiPark on Whitehall Road: £4 flat rate 7pm to 7am

Travel around Light Night Leeds

There are lots of ways to enjoy the many events at Light Night. Create your own route or follow one of our trails, hop on the free Light Night Rider bus, bring your bike, or even hail a Water Taxi!

Most of our events are in walking distance of each other. However, there are additional options available to help you get around the festival at your own pace.

Light Night Rider

Our very own free hop on hop off bus service!

Stopping at all the Light Night zones, the Light Night Rider is a great way to get between all the different events throughout the evening. Fully accessible, all stops will clearly be marked with Light Night bus stop signs.

Bike Rails

Leeds is aspiring to transform the city in a cleaner environment for everyone to enjoy. There are bike rails available all across the city. Bike rail locations can be found on the downloadable map.

Water Taxi

You can travel from the Station Area to Leeds Dock with the Free Water Taxi!
