Travel to Light Night Leeds

Park and Ride

Thursday and Friday until 11pm

Thanks to First Bus, the city’s two park and ride facilities at Elland Road and Temple Green, will be staying open until 11pm both nights especially for Light Night.

Travel into the city centre on the new hybrid buses with leather seats, USB points, and free WiFi every 30 minutes. Return tickets are £3 per person all evening.

By public transport

We encourage our visitors to travel to Light Night Leeds by public transport.

Please be aware that there will be road closures and changes to bus services travelling to and from the city centre.

By car

We encourage using public transport, but if you are bringing your car into the city centre on Light Night, the following car parks have special evening rates:

  • Victoria Leeds: Eastgate, LS2 7AS - £3 (5pm to 6am)
  • Trinity Leeds: Swinegate, LS1 4AG - £4 (5pm to 5am)
  • The Tetley Brewery: Hunslet Road, LS10 1JQ - £4.80 for 5 hours
  • Quarry Hill: St Cecilia Street, LS9 8AH - £3 (6pm to 10pm)
  • Edward Street: LS2 7NU - £3 (7pm to 6am)
  • Templar Street: LS2 7LP - £3 (7pm to 6am)
  • Globe Road: LS11 5QG (near Tower Works) – Free on a first come first served basis (6pm to 11pm)

Travel around Light Night Leeds

There are lots of ways to enjoy the many events at Light Night. Create your own route or follow one of our trails, hop on the free Light Night Rider bus, bring your bike, or even hail a water taxi!

Most of our events are in walking distance of each other. However, there are additional options available to help you get around the festival at your own pace.

Light Night Rider

Our very own free hop on hop off bus service!

Stopping at all the Light Night zones, the Light Night Rider is a great way to get between all the different events throughout the evening. Fully accessible, all stops will clearly be marked with Light Night bus stop signs.

Bike rails

Leeds is aspiring to transform the city in a cleaner environment for everyone to enjoy. There are bike rails available all across the city. Bike parking locations can be found on the downloadable map.

Water taxi

Thursday and Friday until 11pm

Take a free boat ride along the canal on a water taxi from Leeds station southern entrance to Leeds Dock. For more information visit the Leeds Dock website.
