Light Night Leeds festival includes over 40 events across Leeds city centre and beyond. We take our role in keeping audiences, staff and artists safe and well and we have taken guidance from Public Health England during our event planning.
We ask that people to take reasonable precautions while at the event, especially to avoid crowded spaces and to come back later if something is looking very busy. The majority of our events are outdoors, however, some take place inside venues.
Visiting indoor venues
Please be aware that you will have to abide by the coronavirus (COVID-19) procedures at each venue, and these may be different across different venues depending on their own risk assessments and could change at any time.
This may include providing one of the following:
- proof of full vaccination – Both doses received (with the second at least 14 days prior to the event)
proof of a negative NHS Lateral Flow Test – Taken prior to travel on the day of arrival at the event
proof of natural immunity – Based upon a positive PCR test within 180 days of the event (including 10 days self-isolation following the result)
NHS Lateral Flow Tests must be taken and the result registered before arrival at the venue as there will be no testing at venues. Customers who do not have access to the NHS App will need to show text or email confirmation of test results.
Find out how to register a test result on GOV.UK external link.
Please be aware that random coronavirus (COVID-19) checks (asking for proof listed on this page) may be carried out on entry to council venues (Leeds Town Hall, Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds City Museum, Leeds Arts Gallery, Leeds Central library) on the nights of the festival.
NHS COVID Pass
The easiest way to prove your coronavirus (COVID-19) status is via the NHS COVID Pass which will show your vaccination details or Lateral Flow Test results.
Find more information and how to access the NHS COVID PASS on GOV.UK external link.
Symptoms or positive test
Anyone who is currently self-isolating, has tested positive (PCR or Lateral Flow Test) or is displaying symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) external link should not attend Light Night Leeds.
Face coverings and personal space
Whilst not mandatory, we are encouraging and support everyone to continue to wear a face covering wherever they feel comfortable to do so, particular when using any indoor facilities, in congested areas such as toilets and when queuing for bars and food concessions.
To help further reduce the risk of transmission, all our customer facing staff will be required to wear face coverings, it’s safer for them and safer for you.
We would politely ask that all customers respect other people’s choice to wear a mask and to also respect their personal space. Please be thoughtful and be kind to one another at all times!
Hygiene and cleanliness
For all events we will provide additional hand sanitiser points at the entrances, at bars and food concessions and outside all toilets. We will continue to provide enhanced site cleansing services.
Please use the sanitiser points where provided and continue to wash your hands regularly and for more than 20 seconds when using the toilet facilities.
