Light Night is currently recruiting for a number of casual positions for this year’s festival and other events run by the Arts Events and Venues teams through the year.

Venue and Zone Coordinator (casual pool)

This role will coordinate event activities, audiences and volunteers across specific venues or zone areas for festivals. The responsibilities of the role will include coordinating:

  • screening or event activities and schedules across venues or zones
  • a team of volunteers in a venue or zone area and look after their safety and wellbeing
  • ticketing at screenings or events using box office software

We are looking for candidates who meet criteria including excellent organisational and communication skills, experience of coordinating screenings or events, and experience of coordinating teams of volunteers.

This job is a casual role that will include working on festivals and other activities as and when required and may involve working evenings and weekends.

This role will supervise event activities, audiences and teams across venue or zone areas for festivals. The responsibilities of the role will include supervising:

  • screening or event activities and schedules across venues or zones
  • teams at venues and zones and looking after their safety and wellbeing
  • the safety of the public at screenings or events

We are looking for candidates who meet criteria including excellent organisational and event management skills, knowledge of the organisation of large-scale events like festivals, and experience of supervising audiences at screenings or events and of crowd management.

This job is a casual role that will include working on festivals and other activities as and when required and may involve working evenings and weekends.

Festivals and Events Communications Officer

A great opportunity to join the communications team of Arts, Events and Venues (AEV) at Leeds City Council and support some of the UK’s leading festivals and major city events including Light Night Leeds, Leeds International Film Festival, Holocaust Memorial Day, Independent Directions Film Festival, Leeds Young Film Festival and Armed Forces Day.

The role will involve:

  • designing and implementing marketing strategies
  • creating and delivering social media campaigns
  • creating and coordinating printed and digital media assets
  • creating content for press and media releases

Candidates should have excellent organisation skills and experience of communications for arts festivals and events. The role is full-time on an initial one-year contract and will be based at Leeds Town Hall but can also incorporate working from home.
