About Light Night

Celebrating the diverse and thriving creativity of Leeds, Light Night Leeds is an annual free multi-arts and light festival that takes over Leeds city centre for two nights in October.

Starting in 2005, the event has grown year on year and in 2017 was enjoyed by around 80,000 local, national and international visitors.

In 2017 Light Night Leeds celebrated the city of Leeds and its people, starting with a vibrant illuminated parade led by the fabulous Leeds West Indian Carnival as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations, and with over 60 events across the city centre.

All this year’s events have now passed, but check out the 2017 image gallery and video and follow us on our social media accounts for all the latest news and to get information on our next edition in 2018.
