Study Day: Building Victorian Leeds

Study Day: Building Victorian Leeds

With Patrick Bourne, Assistant Curator of Community History

From humble back-to-backs, to grand public buildings and statues, Leeds went through great changes during the 19th Century.

Who were the architects responsible for transforming a modest Georgian town into a great Victorian City? How did the town’s buildings reflect the lives of its inhabitants? And how much of this Victorian heritage remains today?

Come and explore changes to Leeds’ architectural fabric through collections not on display, including rare maps, prints, photographs, bills and letterheads. .

Tickets cost £10 per person (no concessions) which includes lunch in our café. To book your place please call 0113 3784079 or email abbey.house@leeds.gov.uk.
