40. Brothers and Sisters - Ron Haselden (UK)

Sibling relationships are some of the most important and rewarding relationships in our lives. British sculptor Ron Haselden’s project Brothers and Sisters takes the simple concept of asking young children to portray their sibling, or friend, in their own unique artwork and transforming it into a large scale garland of LED lights. Children from two Leeds primary schools, Richmond Hill Academy and Co-op Academy Oakwood took part in special workshops, and a lucky 10 children will see their work in lights on Queen Square; their bespoke pieces becoming part of a large scale installation, and joining a growing body of work from hundreds of young participants across Europe.

Originally commissioned by Canary Wharf Arts.
