This year, Light Night’s Lantern Parade is hosted by Handmade Parade from Hebden Bridge. They are offering some fantastic workshops where you can make and decorate your own lantern to carry in the parade.
All you need for the workshop is yourself and your creative flare! The workshops are free and people of all ages are welcome, although children must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to help them. You must be available to take part in the parade with your lantern on Thursday 6 October. Participants will gather at 6.45pm at the top of Briggate adjacent to the Headrow, with the parade starting at 7.30pm and finishing at around 8.30pm.
During the parade you will be joined by some exciting art lanterns, stilt walkers and bands, walking through the pedestrian zone in Leeds City Centre, and joining Light Night cyclists and runners towards the end for the spectacular finale at Victoria Gardens.
If you are walking in the parade you must be available on the 6th of October at 6:45pm to be ready to walk in the parade (come rain or shine) leaving the top of Briggate adjacent to The Headrow at 7:30pm. The parade will come down The Headrow at 8:20pm.
